March Madness!

March is a busy month for us at ISAC! After wrapping up judging at That Takes the Cake and teaching Summertime Gumpaste Flowers at Over the Top Cake Supplies in Texas, Chef Nicholas is back in Atlanta, and we are all working very hard to get ready for this weekend’s Spring Open House event! We are excited to be hosting TWO guest instructors- Kathy Scott and Reva Alexander! Hooray! But that’s not all we have on tap this month!

First, let’s go back to Spring Open House! It is THIS SATURDAY- March 12. Unlike our Grand Holiday Open House, it is only one day. I have bad news and good news. Bad news first, the first two sessions are full. Sad day. BUT!!!! If you still want to attend, our 2pm session still has several seats available! This session begins at 2pm and finishes at 5:30pm. If you would like to sign up and see me, oops, I mean Chef Nicholas ;), you will need to call and secure your seats: 1-800-662-8925. Unfortunately, online registration has closed, and even though seats are available, you will not be able to register through our online registration. So often our Open House events sell out very quickly, and many of our students and clients are real bummed to have missed out on all the new demos by Chef Nicholas and our guest instructors. This is a rare chance for me to say, “Hey! There is still room, come have fun with us this weekend!” I promise, you won’t regret it! Kathy Scott will be demonstrating adorable little petit fours and Reva Alexander will be showing Open House guests how to use some really outstanding and versatile new piping tips (these guys are revolutionary I tell you!).  I really hope to see you all there! You know me, I love getting to meet you all!

The day after Open House Kathy Scott is teaching a sold out class how to create, decorate, package and sell beautiful little petit fours. Um. I am a petit four junkie. I wish I was signed up for this class (of course I would probably just eat everything in sight!), but alas, I am thankful that I will be there to take photos for our Facebook page and blog!

Next up is what really puts the MADNESS in this March for ISAC! One of our most popular classes- The Five Day Ultimate Gumpaste Flower Class with PME Certification. This one is a doozy! Students will be learning eighteen, yes 18, different flowers: The Ultimate Rose, Stargazer Lily, Calla Lily, Cattleya Orchid, Cymbidium Orchid, Dendrobium Orchid, Gardenia, Gerber Daisy, Lizianthus, Hydrangea, Stephanotis, Lily of the Valley, Sweet Peas, Carnations, Daisies, Eucalyptus, Ferns, and Ivy. Can you say flower power?! Chef Nicholas will also be including instruction on buds and leaves. Basically, after this class is over you’ll be able to make pretty much every bride the perfect shower and/or wedding cake (especially since those brides won’t have to worry about poisonous flowers on their cakes. I’m talking to you lilies!). In addition to learning about three different flowers a day in this mega-awesome class, you will also be gaining PME Certification! This class is one of three modules needed to earn your PME Master Certification. You will walk out of this class with a Nicholas Lodge’s International Sugar Art Certificate and a PME Gumpaste Flowers Professional Diploma. Both will look very fancy on the wall of your bakery and are sure to impress all your clients. Lucky you, there are still a few seats available. Really, how can you pass up gaining such serious FLOWER POWER!!!!! ;)
