2015 ICES Convention

The 2015 ICES Convention is less than two months away, and this year we celebrate its 40th anniversary! If you have never attended an ICES Convention, why not start this year? There is a long list of classes, competitions, demos, and shopping to enjoy

From July 30th- August 2, 2015, sugar artists from all over the world will be in Omaha, Nebraska celebrating 40 years of good times! Registration is open, and goes through June 30th. If you register by June 1 the cost is $190 for ICES members and $330 for non-members. From June 2-30 it is $225 for ICES members and $365 for non-members. Onsite registration is $315 for ICES members and $415 for non-members. CLEARLY it pays (or should I say saves) to sign up early, so really, what are you waiting for?! Click here to get yourself signed up!

Chef Nicholas will be giving a great demo on the Bells of Ireland and Oriental Peony in Gumpaste on Saturday, August 1st, from 8:30-10:00am. Both of these flowers are featured in Chef Nicholas’ newest book, New Trends in Sugar Flowers. Of course, Chef Nicholas will be the enthusiastic and extra informative instructor everyone knows him to be, so don’t miss out on attending this year’s demo! Remember, you MUST SIGN UP IN ADVANCE for all ICES demos! Seating is limited and you do not want to miss out on seeing Chef Nicholas or any of your other favorite instructors this year!

ICES CLASS

A new addition to the convention this year is the Confectionary Arts Competition- a judged cake show! There is over $5000 in cash prizes to be won, and there will be entrants from all around the world! This competition is open to everyone from children, teens, and beginners to advanced and professional divisions! To learn more about the competition, read the rules and regulations, and to enter your piece click here.

Other fun events you may be interested in checking out are the Omaha Food Tours! There will be four different tours: Old Town/Orpheum District Walking Tour, Bite of Omaha (by bus), Midtown Walking Food Tour, and the Classic Omaha Steakhouse Tour (by bus). If you are a foodie, then I definitely suggestion checking out these options! Just reading the descriptions was making my mouth water! Not only will you be delighting in Omaha’s yummiest places, you will also learn all about Omaha’s Wild West history! If I was going to ICES (wishful thinking), I would definitely be going on the Old Town and Midtown walking tours! You can find more information on the walking tours here.

As always, ISAC will have our world-famous booth in the vendor room, we would love for you to stop by and visit with us, and enjoy some good old fashion retail therapy (as Chef Nicholas loves to say!). Our students, clients, friends, and fans are everything to us. We hope to see you all at the 40th annual ICES convention!!!
