Classes Galore!

Introduction_to_Rolled_Fondant_2.jpg

Several weeks ago, I shared our class schedule for January. This week I am revisiting our January class schedule because we have added some fun new classes! Oh, and I’ll be sharing a link that you can click to enter to win Chef Nicholas’ NEW Craftsy class that launches next week! I’ll dispense with the small talk and dive right into it!

First, I will recap the classes that I have mentioned before, starting with the Florida ICES Mini Classes. Chef Nicholas will be teach three classes in Orlando on January 15, 16, and 17. Two of his classes will be teaching some beautiful gumpaste flowers: Blushing Bride Protea and Tuberose (January 15) and Avalanche Rose and Bells of Ireland (January 16). The third class will cover New Trends in Rolled Fondant (January 17). Chef Nicholas is considering retiring some of these classes, so this may be one of the last times these flowers and techniques will be taught! Tomorrow is the LAST DAY to register; don’t miss out on your chance to take a class with Chef Nicholas if you are in Florida!

Next up we have two classes at ISAC: Rolled Fondant Techniques with PME Certification and New Trends in Sugar Flowers. Held over three days, January 23-25, Rolled Fondant Techniques with PME Certification is one of Chef Nicholas’ signature classes. It’s great for beginners to cake decorating or rolled fondant! If you know the basics of rolled fondant, this class is also wonderful to expand your technique tool box (and hey, many of the techniques can be used on buttercream and rolled buttercream). Now, if you have been looking to get your PME certification, this class is one of three required modules! Hanging your PME certifications on the wall of your business is sure to impress all your clients!

If you are looking to expand your flower skills, then New Trends in Sugar Flowers is for you. I love all the flowers in this class: Bells of Ireland, Vanilla Orchid, Love-in-a-Mist, Oriental Peony, and Parrot Tulip (my favorite!!). This class will be held on January 26-27; five flowers, two days. Oh, and the bad news? This is the LAST time Chef Nicholas will be teaching this class. That means if you want to learn any of these flowers, this is your final chance! No pressure…

On to the classes that we just added! On January 30th, our very own Larry Hunn will be teaching our Introduction to Rolled Fondant class! This is a half day class, just 9:00am-1:00pm, and is perfect for those of you who are just starting in cake decorating or have never used fondant before! This is a hands on class and you will learn how to level, torte, fill, and cover a six inch cake! Basic decorating techniques will also be covered including an extruding a border, appliques, pearl patterns, and a decoupage rose! This is a low stress class- no one needs to worry about their personal skill level! Cake decorating is a very popular trend these days, and this is a wonderful class to get started with! Your friends and family will be very impressed how amazing your skills will be after this one short class!
