Anyone out there read this blog from India? In Mumbai, maybe? Well, if you are reading this, get excited! Chef Nicholas will be heading to Cakeology this October! What is Cakeology you ask? According to the vent website, “Spread over 3 days, Cakeology 2018, is the first show of its kind – bringing every day cake artists, sugar artists, bakers, chocolatiers, retail bakers, professional pastry chefs and foodies to celebrate the world of Baking and the Art of Cake Decorating. This exciting weekend has something for everyone.” Hmm, that does sound like a fun weekend. This is the third year of Cakeology, and Chef Nicholas is so excited to be a part of this year’s event!

This October 5, 6, and 7th, in Hall No. 7 of the Bombay Exhibition Hall, the Cakeology Cake Fest will be held. Chef Nicholas will host two events at this year’s show. On October 5, Chef Nicholas is teaching a hands-on mini-workshop: Pulled Flowers. This class will showcase filler flowers that can be made with using any cutters at all! The flowers taught in this workshop will include simple blossoms, veined blossoms, jasmine, Lily of the Valley, hydrangea, and lilac. This class will include full instructions/handouts and a Chef Nicholas Lodge class certificate! On October 7, register for Chef Nicholas’ Rolled Fondant Techniques demo! First and foremost, Chef Nicholas will show you how to make an EGGLESS form of gumpaste! YAY! He will also show the students how to pipe with rolled fondant, brush embroidery, and stenciling. YES, all with rolled fondant! Both the workshop and the demo are open for registration right on the Cakeology website here

Chef Nicholas is eagerly awaiting his trip to Mumbai, India. Not only will he be teaching, but he will also be the Head Judge for the 2018 Cakeology competitions. The overall theme for this year’s competitions is Beautiful India; different parts of Indian’s culture, food, clothing, plants, and animals. There are cupcakes, cookies, wedding cakes, sculpted cakes, sugar flowers… There are so many categories to enter! There is even a junior category for children and teens! You can learn more about the competition categories, theming, and rules by clicking here

But wait! There’s more, Mumbai! Chef Nicholas will be staying on in India after Cakeology ends. On October 8-9, 2018, Chef Nicholas Lodge will be teaching a 2-day class featuring a beautiful bridal spray of gumpaste flowers! The space available for this class is limited, and seats will fill fast. To register for this class, you must call 9987025505. Chef Nicholas hope to see all of you there in Mumbai!
